All CPIT full time and part time staff and students are eligible to apply for a Foundation award or grant.
The awards help fund staff and student projects that can somehow “make a difference” – to the individual applicant, to CPIT, and through them to the community at large.
The trustees are looking for projects that will make a difference.
It doesn’t matter how small or how large the project is. Some awards can provide seed funding to help a small project or little enterprise get started, while other awards can fund major projects that benefit a large number of CPIT students or even the whole community.
Most awards are made after online applications are assessed by the Trustees and referees nominated by the applicant. It is the applicant's responsibility to ensure that the referees will be able to complete their assessments within 14 days of the closure of the grant round. Applications with incompleted referees' assessments will not be considered by the trustees.
Awards are usually made twice a year. Applications for each grant round close on:
- June 1 at 5pm and
- October 5 at 5pm.
Applicants are advised of the Foundation’s decision by the end of June and the end of October respectively.
Some special projects are considered in between these dates, but applicants will need to provide compelling reasons for such consideration.
