Applied Science lecturer Michael Edmonds describes the work being done by students Mel Tansley and Matt Hartstonge as they prepare computer animations for in-class use and for self-learning by students. Working on the project has been a great learning experience for Mel and Matt.
"Applying the code is so much more demanding than learning about it academically", said Mel. "We needed to clarify what was required for each animation and then work out how best to achieve this" said Matt. They are both working about 20 hours per week and some of their animations are already being used by lecturers.
"We're geeting some informal feedback but we'll undertake a formal assessment in semester 2 when all the animations should be complete and in regular use" confirmed Michael.
